How do you measure the speed someone is bowling a cricket ball?
I would like to see how fast I bowl a cricket ball, but I don't have a clue of how to do it? Can somebody please help?!?

- with a speed camera
- Measure the force of the pitcher's throw and multiple it with the distance of the ball.. or you can follow the guy's advice below me and just use a speed camera... you can steal one from the police station.. They always have those in hand... ahaha! joke!
- you need a speed gun or you will have to guess.
- velocity=distance/time meters/second=distance in meters/time in seconds 10m/s=20m/2s to convert to kilometers/hour x 3600seconds/1000meters velocity=36km/h Convert to mph x 1.609 velocity=22.369mph So now all you need is a stop watch and a tapemeasure.
- To do it accurately you need a speed camera. You could try asking you local county side if they would give you access to a speed gun if you were to pay for a net session.
- A speed camera is used!!
- Well it's difficult. You can get someone with a stopwatch waiting for the ball to pass them at the crease but it's difficult to be accurate. Time the release of the ball to the crease then use spee = distance/time. Much easier is to go to a cricket net run by your local county side who have speed guns or other measuring equipment. They often let you use the nets during or after games for a small fee, and you could ask them. They also do this for free at games sometimes on a strip off the pitch. Keep your eye out if youre at a game such as a twenty twenty or a test match. Good Luck!
- If you go to a state fair you might find a vendor who measures the speed of your throw. I have seen the baseball being used but I'm sure you can use your own cricket ball.
